GET TO KNOW YOUR GUIDES

Zack Weaver
Owner and Guide
I began waterfowl hunting at a young age and immediately was obsessed. Most of my hunting was done on public land until I began running trips along the Illinois River Valley amongst the high dollar duck clubs scattered throughout it. That’s when I fell in love with showing people how cool hunting and nature are without really needing to be behind the gun. I’ve guided for several outfits since then throughout the Central and Mississippi flyway’s and have taken the experiences whether they be good or bad, and applied them to Redbeard’s as the standard amongst our company. I then built slowly and hired diligently to ensure I filled my organization with other folks that would hold that standard, often leaning on folks I met during my time in the Army as I know they understand standards and professionalism. The Redbeard’s name is an ode to the beard I traditionally grow during waterfowl season as well as the team I first went overseas with as we had a Jolly Roger as our insignia. I look forward to meeting you, thank you for your interest in my operation!

I started out dove hunting with my dad when I was 8 years old, and quickly fell in love with wing shooting. I’ve hunted all sorts of big game, all over the country, from moose and dall sheep in the interior of Alaska, to white-tailed deer in Southeast Georgia, but nothing gets my heart racing like seeing a dog slam point on a covey of birds, or hearing whistling wings minutes before shooting light. I love working ducks with a call almost more than I like shooting them, but truth be told, I’m happy so long as there’s a dog involved. My biggest passion is upland hunting, and all the dog work that comes with it.

Guide
Born and raised in The Lone Star State, Matt “Nix” has lived all over the United States finally winding up with his wife and 2 beautiful daughters in Kansas. He travels down to Oklahoma each year and runs hunts, provides wisdom and helps boost morale to get the fellas through the season. He’s got a thing for getting fat, drake mallards feet down over the decoys when even they know they shouldn’t be doing it. He’s a blast to hunt with and great with the kiddos, come on out and see him!

Guide
Growing up in North Texas I started out waterfowl hunting small farm ponds, and eventually became addicted to watching feet hanging. My passion for wing shooting extends past waterfowl into upland game as well. Having guided in the Texas panhandle chasing cranes and all the way up through South Dakota shooting roosters, my love for upland game birds is a close second to waterfowl. But no good guide is complete without a dog and my 5 year old chocolate lab is that dog.

Jarred Barkley
Guide
Born and raised hunting the Piney woods of East Texas I became very familiar with the river bottoms, flooded timber and fields. Once I moved to the coast, I was able to focus a bit more on the saltwater bay fishing and duck hunting that always interested me. The saltwater marshes, bays, and the entire mid-upper Texas coastal region have become my home. I look forward to sharing all of what the Texas coast has to offer with our clients out on the water slaying Redfish and Redheads!

I have been waterfowl hunting for 16 years all throught the United States. Nothing gets me more excited than watching Mallard’s cupped up and commmited to the decoy spread, and enjoying it with clients and friends.

I have been chasing ducks and geese for 12 years, mainly throughout the Midwest and California during my time in the Marine Corps. I love hunting ducks or geese in dry fields!

I’ve been chasing birds with Zack since long before either of us could drive. My favorite species to hunt is definitely Wigeon; they’re a great decoying bird, taste darn good, and they look even better on the wall. My favorite part of guiding is watching the clients’ expressions whether it their 1st time, or 1,000th time seeing feet hanging over the decoys.
